Similar to Storm Claudia hit the north-west the night before, City overwhelmed United aside at the Etihad Stadium. The home side, meanwhile, could have extended their advantage when a superb Miedema pass sent Bunny Shaw away only for her to fluff her lines but it did not affect the result to the winning team. Having failed to beat any opponent who ended above them in the prior term, the manager's side now have wins against Arsenal and United to put them in a favorable position after the opening fixtures.
