Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This match provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Dominance Established from the Start

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.

Midfielder Adam Wharton went close minutes later, driving a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the official waved away the appeals.

Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to get his goal, tapping home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.

Shelbourne were clinging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
